Cruising fans, mark your diaries – Monday 29th September at 4pm sees the return of The Cruise: Fun-Loving Brits at Sea on Channel 5. It’s back for another season of sunshine, sea days, and everyday Brits living their best lives at sea. This time you’ll see passengers spending their holidays onboard Ambassador Cruise Line.
If you haven’t dipped in before, The Cruise is part travel diary, part reality show. Instead of celebrities or over-the-top drama, we get something far more relatable: groups of British holidaymakers heading off on a cruise adventure. Cameras follow them as they explore Mediterranean ports, try their hand at shipboard activities, and occasionally navigate those little travel hiccups we all know too well.
Season 1 was filmed onboard Regal Princess and premiered in 2023.

This new season of The Cruise: Fun-Loving Brits at Sea will give viewers a glimpse into life onboard one of Ambassador Cruise Line’s ships. Unlike the mega-liners you see from other brands, Ambassador’s ships, such as Ambience and Ambition, are mid-sized, which means they can visit smaller ports while still offering all the comforts you’d want from a holiday at sea.
If you’re new to Ambassador, here’s what a cruise with them typically includes: your cabin, full-board dining (breakfast, lunch, afternoon tea and dinner), access to pools, lounges, and leisure facilities, plus a daily schedule of entertainment and activities. On longer cruises, you can also expect the classic touches like a Captain’s Welcome Party and Gala Dinner.
There are, of course, some optional extras such as drinks packages, speciality dining, and shore excursions, but the overall experience is designed to give you a lot without piling on hidden costs.
As someone who loves cruising, I think shows like this capture a lot of what makes the experience so addictive – the mix of relaxation, discovery, and the little quirks that come with life onboard. And to be honest, I just eat, sleep, breathe cruising…
