As much as I love writing about my time on cruise ships, I really look forward to documenting how much things cost. Not many people talk about this and I find it genuinely fascinating. If you’re new to cruising, the price you see advertised is rarely the full cost. You often find yourself paying for this, upgrading to that, and before you know it you’ve spent $400 extra than you intended. That’s why I started putting these blog posts together. They give a clearer picture of what you can actually expect to spend. In this blog I’m going to cover how much my Celebrity Beyond Caribbean cruise cost, and exactly how much I spent.

I already have my full review of Celebrity Beyond. Go ahead and read that!

For Context – My Celebrity Beyond Cruise

I travelled with my partner on this cruise, so all the prices will be per person based on double occupancy, and all costs will be split 50/50. We booked this cruise on the 10th January 2025 via CruiseClubUK, with a travelling date of November 2025.

We were sailing from Miami visiting three ports in the Caribbean: Puerto Plata, St Thomas, and Basseterre! More about that over on my Instagram!

Like other cost breakdown blogs, I’m excluding anything that is an optional purchase / non-travel related stuff like magnets, coffee in ports, snacks in Miami, etc.

As Celebrity Cruises are American and charge everything onboard in USD, I have converted them to GBP, and for the sake of this blog everything has been rounded to the nearest pound.

How much did the cruise itself cost?

So, for 7 nights onboard Celebrity Beyond sailing from Miami in an Inside cabin, the cruise itself cost… £1,922 for two of us.

This included the ‘All Included’ package which includes Classic Drinks Package and Wi-Fi.

Extras for the cruise

A few days before we sailed on Celebrity Beyond, we decided to upgrade to the Ultimate Bundle, which is for the Premium Drinks package and Unlimited Wi-Fi. We were toying with this idea for a while, but we learnt that espresso martini’s cost $19 and the Classic Drinks Package only covers up to $13. This cost an additional £277.06. Which, considering how many espresso martini’s we had, it was a no-brainer.

Flights from Edinburgh to Miami

As we’re based in Scotland, we obviously needed to make our way to PortMiami. We flew indirect via London Heathrow in Economy class with British Airways, and that cost us a grand total of… £1,748 for two. Quite pricey actually!

Our stay in Miami

We had a 2-night pre-cruise stay on South Beach, Miami. We really tried to get this as cheap as possible, but Miami is expensive! We stayed at the Beacons Hotel South Beach and paid £269.

Transportation

We didn’t do any official cruise transfers for this cruise, we solely relied on uber / local taxis. We ended up spending £110 getting from our home to the airport in Edinburgh, Miami airport to the hotel, the hotel to the port, and then back.

Charges whilst onboard Celebrity Beyond

We totally forgot to pre-pay our gratuities before we embarked. Usually we do this before as it’s just one less thing to worry about. And if we did, we’d actually have $0/£0 onboard account. How cool is that? We didn’t actually spend a penny onboard. No speciality dining. No casino. Nothing!

Anyways, the final onboard invoice came to £190.52 which is for the gratuities.

The final calculation

The initial booking price (cabin + drinks) £1,922 / £961 per person
The extras (premium upgrade)£277.06 / £138.53 per person
Flights£1,748 / £874.00 per person
Hotel£269 / £134.50 per person
Transportation£110 / £55.00 per person
Onboard Charges£190.52 / £95.26 per person
Total £4,516.58 / £2,258.29 per person

Now, if i’m being honest, we probably spent a lot more if you start to add up the food in Miami, Mall trips, etc. But £2,258pp for an all inclusive Caribbean cruise isn’t too bad is it? What do you think?

Celebrity Beyond vs My Other Cruises

It’s worth mentioning that both Oasis and Norwegian included a lot more onboard spending (Starbucks, Casino, laundry), whilst that wasn’t much of a thing onboard Costa Smeralda so I couldn’t include it.. And we didn’t buy a drinks package on Oasis of the Seas. So if I was to take all that into consideration, Costa Smeralda would still have been the cheapest!

And whilst Celebrity Beyond was quite a lot, a big fraction of that was for the flights!

I think for my next cruise, I’d like to consider something a bit closer to the Costa Smeralda price point.

Celebrity Beyond£4,516.58 / £2,258.29 per person
Costa Smeralda£3,054 / £1,528 per person
Oasis of the Seas£3,039 / £1,519 per person
Norwegian Viva£5,888 / £2,944 per person
