If you’re anything like me, you’ve probably signed up to EVERY hotel loyalty programme by now, right? Lured in by the sparkle of free upgrades, discounts, and free breakfasts… eventually. But what if I told you there’s a new kind of programme that flips that whole idea on its head and actually saves you money right now, not years down the line?
Well, let me introduce you to Dis-loyalty, a cheeky little travel membership that gives you an immediate discount on hotels and restaurants around the world. And free coffee.
I found out about it during a recent trip to London when my friend was staying at The Hoxton, Shoreditch. She paid very little – and on top of that, she got free coffee every morning, and 10% off all their food and drink!
So, what is Dis-loyalty?
Dis-loyalty is a membership programme from Ennismore, the people behind some seriously stylish hotels like The Hoxton, Mama Shelter, Mondrian, 25hours, and more. Think city breaks with rooftop bars, creative interiors, and the kind of lobby you actually want to hang out in.
Instead of pushing you to stay at the same hotel chain again and again, Dis-loyalty gives you 20% off every time you try somewhere new within their family of brands, and then 10% off any future stays. It’s all about mixing it up – new cities, new vibes, new memories.
What do you get with Dis-loyalty?
It costs what £12/month (or £108/year) for the membership, and it gets you:
- up to 20% off hotel stays across 75+ properties globally – from London to Lisbon, Dubai to Düsseldorf.
- 50% off stays in hotels that have just opened.
- 10% off food and drink at some of their most popular bars and restaurants – perfect if you’re popping in for a casual brunch or cocktails with friends.
- A free barista-made coffee every day at participating hotels. Ideal if you’re working remotely or just want to feel like a guest without staying overnight.
Who’s it for?
Dis-loyalty is for travellers who love variety. Maybe you’re not fussed about reaching Platinum Elite Titanium Diamond status with one chain – you just want gorgeous hotels, central locations, and a little saving every time you travel.
If you enjoy brands like Soho House, Ace Hotel, or even boutique Airbnbs – but want a discount and a few perks thrown in – this is a really solid alternative. It’s also perfect for people who work remotely or travel for work but want somewhere with more personality than your standard business hotel.
My Personal Experience with Dis-loyalty
I’ve only just signed up, so I’m still pretty new to Dis-loyalty. But I’m visiting Paris in June, and originally I had a 2-night hotel stay booked for €340 through Booking.com. Since then, I’ve booked a more luxurious, centrally located hotel via Dis-loyalty for just €301 – that’s already a €39 saving.
On top of that, I’ve redeemed three days’ worth of cappuccinos that I would’ve otherwise bought from a coffee chain.
Dis-loyalty: The Secret Hotel Hack Perfect for Influencers
Let’s be real, it’s perfect for travel influencers and content creators. If you stay in 4-5 hotels a year and want that kinda of vibey aesthetic for your Instagram, then you’ll love it.
Plus, the option to always grabs the free coffee means you can pretty much make the content for free, right? Influencer math!
Who isn’t it for?
It’s probably not for small-town folks who only go on holiday once or twice a year. If you’re not in a city that has a Dis-loyalty hotel, then you probably won’t see the value.
Why it’s still flying under the radar
Despite launching in 2023, Dis-loyalty is still relatively niche – and that’s kind of why it feels like a hidden gem. There’s no flashy TV ad campaign or aggressive push on your inbox. It’s a word-of-mouth thing. And when you stumble across one of their properties, maybe The Hoxton in London like myself – you’ll quickly realise this isn’t just another chain. It’s a vibe.
Final thoughts
I’m not throwing shade at traditional loyalty programmes, they work for some people, and I’m certainly not going to opt out of Booking.com’s rewards programme. But if you’re after instant value, variety, and love discovering new hotel brands in new cities, Dis-loyalty is worth a look. For frequent travellers, even semi-frequent ones in big cities, it can easily pay for itself in a couple of bookings.
So next time you’re planning a city escape, don’t just default to the usual points-chasing chain. There’s a whole world of stylish stays waiting – and with Dis-loyalty, they come with a discount too.
