Royal Caribbean fans, hold onto your sun hats – there’s word of a brand-new Icon-class ship on the horizon. While Royal Caribbean hasn’t officially confirmed the name, early leaks and imagination have christened the mysterious fourth vessel Hero of the Seas. Set to join the fleet in 2027, this ship promises to carry on the legacy of innovation and spectacle established by its predecessors.
As you can see from the image below, taken from the Equasis database, Royal Caribbean have registered Hero of the Seas. Could this mean an official announcement coming soon?
I must say, for legal purposes this is all speculation and I of course, await the official announcement from Royal Caribbean.

The Growing Icon Class Fleet
Royal Caribbean’s ambitious Icon Class began with:
- Icon of the Seas – debuted January 2024, redefined mega-ship cruising with its 20 decks, 7 pools, multiple neighborhoods, and a striking “Pearl” sphere in its Royal Promenade.
- Star of the Seas – the second ship, sailing from Port Canaveral starting summer 2025.
- Legend of the Seas – the third, officially named and announced in February 2025, will debut in the Mediterranean in mid-2026 (Barcelona summer 2026) before sailing to Florida for winter Caribbean itineraries.
- And now: A fourth Icon-class ship is officially on order for delivery in 2027, though details like its name remain under wrap.
